Buy A Bracelet, Support the Orphans!

Do Ubuntu is a nonprofit organization that helps children and their mothers who are infected with the HIV virus. We support more than 500 hundred children in South Africa by selling the bracelets; "one bracelet at a time" regular price is $15 and $12 for students. All the profits made go to the children in Africa; allowing them to receive medical assistance, school supplies, food and shelter. They also have a Virtual Enterprise class! Grace and Michael involved the Dons Net Café with the Do Ubuntu Bracelet Campaign; this amazing couple invited us to see the movie “Angels in the Dust” and we saw Louise Hogarth the producer, this is how we became involved with this amazing Campaign.

We have been working extremely hard to promote Do Ubuntu at school and church. One of our biggest accomplishments is when we went to Goleta Valley Church and sold over 15 bracelets! It was amazing! We were so excited and since then the “Do girls” (Taine and Diana) and the Do Ubuntu team haven’t stop selling and helping the children in Africa.

What inspires this Campaign and our involvement is the children, their security, their health, their happiness, and most importantly their chance to have a different and better life.

We read in the newspaper that Mark, a 50-year-old man ran in the New York Marathon wearing a Do Ubuntu shirt that was designed at the Dons Net Café! That’s not all though; Usher was seen wearing a Do Ubuntu Bracelet at Michaels Jackson’s funeral.

Our goal is to raise more money than what was raised last year and hopefully traveling to South Africa so we can visit the Botshabeloo orphanage located an hour away from Johannesburg. The “Do Girls” are exceedingly passionate about what they do and are honored to work with Grace, Michael and John Hoink.

The “Do Girls” and a few others we able to speak with them which made the experience real. When talking to the orphans they asked them what they wanted for Christmas and a young man said, “A soccer ball”. Our hearts dropped; it was shocking for us to hear what they wanted… Out of anything they could have asked for, they chose a soccer ball. We had a connection right away and we cried because of how strong it was.

The Grand Opening was an entirely different experience for the “Do Girls” because it was their first time speaking at a public event. They were extremely nervous but also really passionate about what they were telling people. “For us personally, it created a whole new vision in our minds. We want to save children! Mothers! It was a new experience and we were glad to present the ‘Do Ubuntu Bracelet Campaign’.” ~Do Girls

We are planning to have a fundraiser for Do Ubuntu by showing the movie “Angels in the Dust.” Check back at a later date for updated information on the film showing. We hope many people will go and support us. This is our first Do campaign event; we are so proud to be able to tell the orphans’ stories to our community.

Welcome
