The DNC Marches Against Extiction!
DNC on the move!
The DNC Marches Against Extiction! Pablo, Madeline, Elizabeth, and Hope Martinez the Roots & Shoots Coordinator

On Ocotber 4, 2014 six of the Dons Net Cafe members went to the La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angeles to participate in the Global March for Elephants, Rhinoceros, and Lions for the March Against Extinction. With over 700 people attending the march and supporting the ban against the ivory trade, elephant and rhinoceros poaching, and canned hunting, they marched down Wilshire Boulevard with signs, banners, chants, and a purpose until The South African Consulate was reached. The 700+ marchers stayed in front of the consulate for photos and to ensure their beliefs were heard.

After the march, there was a gathering held at the La Brea Tar Pits for animal ambassadors, speakers, and traditional African musicians where  they entertained the marchers. Once the march came to an end, the Dons Net Cafe memebers had the pleasure of meeting with Hope Martinez, the Roots and Shoots Coordinator for California. The overall experience of the event was thrilling and enjoyble between participating in the march and the people we connected with.
