Dons Net Cafe Grand Opening HUGE Success!
This is always the favorite event of the year for the Dons Net Cafe. We get to see our alumni, our business partners, showcase our old and new ventures, eat alot of tamales, and chicken dance with hundreds of people. Alumni's Karina Arroyo, Summer (song bird), and Santos Espinosa started us out with their song the wrote and produced with Traffic Solutions last year, "We Ride Differently". Everyone was really amazed.
This year was even more miraculous then usual having Keynote speaker and serial entrepreneur Paul Orfalea attend our event and wow the crowd. Who better to endorse the entrepreneurship? Mr. Orfalea gave many lessons on this day and words devoured by every business student and adult in the SBHS theater. "Save your money, be enthusiastic, get along with your parents, smile!" to name a few.
Mr. Orfalea really knows how to draw out the press! We had our favorite reporter from Noozhawk, Alex Kacik in attendance but he shared the audience with KEYT, Daily Sound, Noozhawk, SB NewsPress, and amazingly...KCLU-NPR! Mrs. B. was astounded to meet someone from her all time favorite radio show, NPR with Reporter Lance Orozco!
SBTeenNewsNetwork made a great YouTube video about the event, are any of you interested in being in the DNC? See our VP of HR, Ruben Medina.
John Trotti, valued and long standing business partner, wrote a great article MSW Management.
Amber Balentine, Adam Guzman, and Brendan Dubbels represented their class very well and gave an insight to what they are doing in the business world, very impressive.
We were very proud to have Steve Mof the Chamber to come up and help us with our raffle ticket sales, we will admit this was the most successful raffle sell ever.
We want to thank our current students for their hard work for this event. Being in the Dons Net Cafe is a lot of work and a lot of reward. We are proud of our students and confident of their ability to go out in the world and be a success. We also want to thank all the parents, alumni, and business partners in attendance. We would not be a success with out each and every persons' support. The "big" secret to our success. Thank you to Vanessa and Mo because this would not happen without you two.
This event was brought to you by the Queen herself, Stephanie Medina, Event Coordinator and Homecoming Queen. Impressive work Steph and we love and respect your ability to organize such a successful event.
