Dons Net Café Helps out in the Walk to End Alzheimer's!
The Alzheimer's walk will be held this Saturday, November 5, at the Santa Barbara Zoo @9:00 AM. The walk is a movement to reclaim the future for millions. With more than five million Americans living with Alzheimer's and nearly eleven million more serving as caregivers, the time to act is now! The DNC will be joining an unstoppable force of thousands of people who are standing up to this devastating disease. This event is a tribute to Lloyd J. Pieters, a man who has a history here in Santa Barbara. He taught at Roosevelt, Franklin, and Peabody schools. When Adams elementary opened, he became the first principal. Pieters' goal was to live to be 100 years old. Sadly, he passed away at age 97. Although Pieters is no longer with us, he will never be forgotten, and the Walk to End Alzheimer's will help to keep his memory living on. Join the Dons Net Café and many others in the fight to end Alzheimer's!!
