United Way interview
Thanks to Juli from United Way and Amber from Moniceito Bank and Trust. They have helped us develop a program to interview our future. They had the Dons Net Cafe fill out a survey of what we wished to accomplish in our future, "what we wanted to be when we grow up". With this information they hunted through their contacts to find us a match. Maria Orozco a Sale Representative for the Dons Net Cafe wanted to meet with a day care owner. We asked her to write about her experience which is below.
"On April 27, 2010 I was interviewed by Jen Bowman, an employee of Girls Incorporated of Greater Santa Barbara. She helped me realize that if I were interested in starting my own day care business, I would have to have a backup plan set up. I would also need a California Care license. I would also need to know the how much money I would need to sustain the day care center. I learned the pros and cons of this business and what I would be getting myself into. Over all, this was a successful interview because I learned so much and I am more aware of the decisions I will be making in my future and have a plan that could guide in that direction." Maria
"Had a meeting to day with Attorney at Law Jennifer Duffy and David Tappeiner. They gave me great tips on how they started off being an undergrad and finiding their passion for Law. They mentioned alot of non-profit law organizations such as the CASA that may help me get a feel for being an attorney. I feel way more confident going into this career, less unsure. Thank you so much Juli, Jennifer and David, you really made a difference in my view of becoming an attorney." Marissa Villa
